How DevThrottle compares

DevThrottle isn’t a different agent — it’s the layer that runs the ones you already use. This compares the usual ways to keep up with a whole fleet of them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is DevThrottle an AI agent?

No. DevThrottle does not write code and is not an agent - it is the control room for the agents you already run. It lines up Claude Code, Codex, and your other tools on one board so you can see what each is doing at a glance and answer them by voice. You bring the agents and their subscriptions; we never charge you for AI tokens.

Is it really free? What is the catch?

The app is free forever, and your code never leaves your computer. We host nothing of yours, so it costs us nothing when you use it. Paid plans only cover things that cost us money - unlimited hosted transcription and support. The free version is not a trial and never expires.

Which coding agents does it work with?

It works with the AI coding agents you already use - Claude Code, Codex, Aider, and others - across different tools at the same time. You keep your existing agent and subscription; DevThrottle just runs and watches them all for you, so one board shows what every agent is doing.

Can I really talk to my agents?

Yes - that is one of the best parts. Voice mode reads you what an agent is doing and types your answers back, so you can keep things moving from the car or a walk. It even learns a custom dictionary of your project names and jargon, and that dictionary syncs across all your machines. On the free plan you bring your own AI key; our hosted plan (coming soon) gives you unlimited transcription on our key, with no setup.

Where does my code live? What do you see?

Everything runs on your own computer - your code, your agents, all of it. When you check in from your phone or another browser, it connects straight to your machine, not through our servers. The only thing we ever touch is the optional voice AI, and even then we only pass along voice - never your code.
