Install DevThrottle in three steps

1 min read

Three steps: an account, the install, your first agent. No keys to paste.

  1. Create your account, or sign in

Sign up with Google, GitHub, or an email address and a password - or sign in if you already have an account.

    Create free account

On day 15 nothing you installed stops. Only the parts we host switch off, and nothing is charged.

  2. Put DevThrottle on your machine

On Windows, press Download for Windows: it is offered as soon as your account exists, and on your account page after that. If your browser holds the file back and says it is not commonly downloaded, open its full downloads list and press Keep. Run the file, press Next, and on the last screen press Open Director.

On a Mac with Apple silicon, open Terminal and paste this one line.

    Terminal
    curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/thefrederiksen/devthrottle/main/scripts/install-mac.sh | bash
  3. Open DevThrottle, sign in, start your first agent

When DevThrottle opens, a short setup starts: press Set me up. On the gateway screen keep the Hosted gateway card that is already selected and press Sign in and connect. Your browser opens, you sign in with the account from step 1, and the setup shows Connected: press Continue.

On the agents screen press Use these agents, and if it says you need one, press Install Claude Code for me first. Then take the way on that each following screen offers: the button at the bottom right, except on the browser screen, where it is the quiet Set up browsers later link. The last screen reads You are ready: press Start my first agent, choose the folder that holds your code with Browse for a repository, and press Start Session.

Note

Your first session continues at Start your first session. Want every screen explained? Install and connect walks the same install click by click, and the install reference has the Mac and headless routes in full.
